A public resource is now available to share research, regulations, updates and news items related to Oklahoma's recent earthquakes. Governor Mary Fallin announced the launch of http://earthquakes.ok.gov/ earlier this week.

The launch of the new website came on the same day as the release of a new statement by the Oklahoma Geological Survey, which states that OGS believes that many of the earthquakes in Central and North-Central Oklahoma are triggered by waste-water disposal wells related to energy production. Fallin said, “Oklahoma state agencies are already taking action to address this issue and protect homeowners.”

Inquiries are welcome by the Oklahoma Secretary of Energy and Environment Michael Teague's office at 405-285-9213.
