Claremore Sequoyah Student Killed in Accident

A high school student died when her vehicle was struck by a Claremore Sequoyah school bus northeast of Claremore Wednesday morning. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports the student the jeep the student was driving went off the road near the intersection of Rogers County North-South Road 4220 and Akin Road, about four miles east of Sequoyah High School around 8 o'clock. The student over-corrected and her vehicle slid into the path of the school bus. No names have been released but OHP officers confirm the student was the daughter of a teacher at the school. The report indicates 40 students were on the bus, but none of them sufferd a serious injury. A second bus was sent to the scene of the accident to pick up the bus passengers and take them to school.
