Big Brothers Big Sisters has been changing the lives of children since 1904. The organization is always on the lookout for volunteers to become Bigs and donations help a lot in that search. Area Director Charlene Dew said there are two elements for success: funding and volunteers.

Like many other non-profits, Big Brothers Big Sisters holds fundraisers. Coming up on the last Saturday of August is the “BIG Event on the Bayou,” a dinner with entertainment provided by Ernest James Zydeco and an auction.
