Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner John Doak will host and moderate a national forum about earthquake insurance on Friday. The Center for Insurance Policy and Research summer event, “All Things Earthquake” is taking place in Chicago. In March of this year, Doak issued a warning to insurance companies to “not abuse the “man-made” earthquake and preexisting damage exclusions in earthquake policies in order to deny claims. Doak said in a press release, “The importance of earthquake insurance is growing in Oklahoma” and “the goal of the event is to expand knowledge and share ideas.”

The state of Oklahoma experienced a number of minor earthquakes on Thursday in the central part of the state north of Oklahoma City.
