Bruins to Face Former Skipper on Friday

Bartlesville High will begin its football season this Friday night, as the Bruins will head to Claremore to face the Zebras to begin the year.

This is the fifth straight season that Bartlesville has started with a week one matchup against Claremore.

There will be a familiar name on the opposing sidelines.

Former Bruin head coach Jason Sport will face BHS with a new job. Sport is the Claremore defensive coordinator this fall. He took a job with the Zebras this past spring and worked his way into the DC opening when the spot came open.

Sport compiled an 8-23 record during his three years as head coach. The Bruins made the playoffs in 2020 because of an expansion of the field by the OSSAA – falling to Putnam City North 31-6.

We will have Bartlesville at Claremore on Friday night on KWON – AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1. With video on KWONTV.com.
