Bartlesville High football wrapped up on Friday night, but a younger group of Bruins made their presence felt on Saturday afternoon at Lincoln Christian School.

A year after falling in the title game as third-graders, the fourth grade Bruin football team won the INFC state championship, beating Stillwater 14-6.

Michael Kent was instrumental in the win for Bartlesville, scoring both touchdowns and rushing for 217 yards. Kent also had 37 yards passing. Colt Jenkins caught all the passes for the Bruins.

This same group did well last year at the third grade level, losing in the state title game in an 11-2 season. This year’s club went a perfect 12-0 en route to the championship.

At the varsity level, Bartlesville High head coach Jason Sport says the run the group has gone on has been impressive.

Bartlesville had beaten Yukon (22-0) and Bixby (14-0) earlier in the playoffs before facing Stillwater on Saturday.

Christian Ketaku, Kavery Weathers, Kade Lackey, Colt Jenkins and Talon Lackey are all key contributors on the squad as well.
