Bartlesville Hosts Del City for Home Opener

Week no. 3 of high school football is here and it is sure to be a special one at Custer Stadium on Friday.

The Bruins have a chance to go up against the best of their own classification in 6A-II, as Del City comes to Bartlesville.

Both teams are 1-1 coming off close losses last week. Del City nearly snapped a 23-game Carl Albert winning streak this past Friday, but fell by one point in overtime, 32-31.

The Eagles have three main studs on offense, quarterback Qulinlin Ganther, Wide receiver Jeff Foreman and running back Tyus Messner. BHS head football coach Lee Blankenship talks about Del City.

Bartlesville will be starting junior Ben Winters at quarterback for the first time tonight. Winters led the Bruin offense down the field for a score late in last week’s loss against Collinsville. It was the latest in a progression that has made him another good option at signal caller. Blankenship says Winters will continue to improve.

Del City and Bartlesville kick off at 7:00 Friday evening from Custer Stadium.

We will have the pregame show at 6:30 on KWON – AM 1400 and FM 93.3.

You can also listen online at BartlesvilleRadio.com and on the Bartlesville Radio App.
