The Oklahoma Golf Hall of Fame had a Bartlesville flavor on Sunday night, as a few different Bartians were honored at the event, held at Southern Hills in Tulsa.

Former Bartlesville High Bruin, Carson Rainbolt, received one of the 2019 scholarships from the Hall of Fame. Rainbolt qualified for 6A state this past spring as a senior, and also in 2018 for BHS as a junior.

Rainbolt is currently a freshman at Oklahoma State and is studying biology.

Meanwhile, William Nichols was one of five new inductees into the OGA HOF. Nichols grandson, David King, is a Bartlesville resident.

Nichols was likely the first golf professional in the state of Oklahoma, and helped introduce the state to the sport of golf in the 1900’s.
