Bartlesville Tries to Get Win No. 1 at Sapulpa

Bartlesville High will have its first district road game of the year on Friday, as the Bruins will travel to Sapulpa to take on the 3-1 Chieftains.

This was one of the wackiest games in BHS history a year ago, when Bartlesville fell to Sapulpa 63-58 at Custer Stadium. Ultimately the loss kept the Bruins out of the playoffs.

A lot of the same characters will be playing in the rematch, including Sapulpa’s quarterback, a TCU commit in Eli Williams. Bartlesville head coach Jason Sport talks about the challenge his team will face.

The Bruin defense again has been the key early this season. BHS allowed only one touchdown through nearly three quarters in a loss to Booker T. last week. Bartlesville’s defense has kept it in some games when the offense has sputtered early. Sport says he is proud of that group.

A 7:00 PM kick with a 6:30 pregame. You can listen to the contest on KWON – AM 1400 and FM 93.3.

You can also watch the ballgame on KWONTV.com.
