The sounds of pads and whistles will be heard throughout Green Country in about a month, as spring football is quickly approaching for high schools in the area.

At Bartlesville High, this spring will likely be a pivotal one for the program. Next month will be the first time that newly hired Bruin head coach Lee Blankenship will have a chance to see his players in action. It will also be the first time the players will get to play and run drills with their new coaches. - and BHS just hired a new one.

Blankenship's two coordinators have been set for a while- offensive coordinator will be Cody McDaniel, who came to Bartlesville after servicing as Blankenship’s offensive coordinator at Beggs. Defensive coordinator will be locked down by Jason Sport, who spent the last two years on the defensive staff at Jenks.

The newest addition to Blankenship’s was officially approved on Monday’s Bartlesville School Board meeting, Jason Munoz.

Munoz will help coach the Bruins offense as well as serve as associate head coach under Blankenship. Munoz comes to Bartlesville after seven seasons at Lincoln Christian, having made the playoffs in each of the last seven years. Bartlesville head coach Lee Blankenship talks about finding his staff.

Spring practice will likely start the week of May 14 for the Bruins.
