BHS Loses Rain Shortened Game

Bartlesville High baseball got the short end of the stick on Monday night during a rain-shortened game at Union.

The Bruins fell to Union 2-0 in five innings when the umpires called the game due to heavy rain just after 6:30 PM.

BHS had runners on second and third base with only one out when the game was called. The OSSAA allows games to be called complete after five innings, even if a new inning has been started.

The loss ruins a great starting pitching outing from Noah Yearout, who allowed only two runs over five innings of work. Bartlesville didn’t get much going offensively. Andrew Harden and Braden Winters were the only two Bruins to tally hits in the loss.

Brennan Longacre and John Cone drew walks to begin the sixth inning. Grant Yardley bunted them both into scoring position before the game was called due to rain.

Bartlesville falls to 4-7, 0-5 in district play. BHS is back after it against Union on Tuesday evening at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium.

First pitch scheduled for 5:00 PM, in a game we will broadcast on KWON – AM 1400 and FM 93.3.

The broadcast will begin following the 5:00 PM news – around 5:30.
