BHS Swimming Back at Home Tuesday

The Bartlesville High varsity swim teams are back at home for their final meet in a while.

The Lady Bruins and Bruins will have about three weeks off after Enid and Bishop Kelley visit the Phillips 66 Aquatic Center on Tuesday.

BHS had its first home meet of the year a week ago tonight. Bartlesville will be reloading on the ladies side, with only one major contributor back from the team that won the Lady Bruin’s fifth straight state title a year ago. Head coach Chad Englehart talks about what we can expect from the BHS girl’s in the pool this year.

Sydney Perry was the 6A State Champion in the 50 freestyle and the 100 butterfly last year. Perry is really the only senior on the team. There are a handful of sophomore and juniors that Englehart says his club will lean on.

Despite a nucleus returning, most girls outside of Perry played supporting roles on the BHS squad a year ago. Englehart says he will rely on Perry for leadership this season.

We will have a look at the Bruin guys a bit later on this week.

Both BHS clubs hit the pool at 5:30 PM.
