Bartlesville High was swept in a girls and boys basketball double-header on Tuesday night, as Bixby came into Bruin Fieldhouse and left with two victories.

On the girls side, BHS kept in it until the third quarter. The Lady Spartans pulled away in the second half to win 61-45. This is the third game in a row Bartlesville has scored at or above 45-points.

Chloe Martin got 12 points in the first five minutes of the second quarter, and helped Bartlesville cut what was an 11-point Bibxy lead down to four. Martin hit three three-pointers, and got this and-one to keep BHS afloat in the early going.

Elise Cone was also tremendous for BHS, knocking down a season-high four three-pointers. Bartlesville hit nine threes as a team, but it was not enough to slow down a staunch Bixby offensive effort. The Lady Bruins are 6-9.

On the guy’s side, a shorthanded Bruin club could not keep up with Bixby, as the Spartans downed BHS 63-45. The Bruins did not have Shane Simpson or Caleb Perry available to play last night. Bartlesville had only 16-points at halftime, but came out of the second half scoring the basketball better. The Bruins outscored Bixby 8-0 in the final 1:17 to make the score look more respectable, which included this three from LP Smith on a career night.

The Bruins have lost 11 in a row and are 1-14 on the season.

Both Bartlesville clubs will next host Sapulpa at Bruin Fieldhouse on Friday, before taking on Booker T. at the BOK Center Showcase on Saturday evening.
