Bartlesville High School announced the hiring of Cody Price as its new baseball coach on Wednesday afternoon.

The Bartlesville Public School District’s board of education will consider a recommendation to hire Price at its regular meeting in June. Price says he is thrilled for this opportunity.

Price has a large contingent of family from the Nowata area. He says the job looked appealing when it came open last year as well.

Price was an assistant at Westmoore for three seasons from 2009-2011. Then he spent the next eight years as an assistant coach at Mustang High School. He was the pitching coach for the 2017 State Championship and went to the 2018 state quarterfinals. Price has had 30 athletes who went on to play college ball, with six of them signed to Division 1 scholarships.

Coaching the Bruins gives Price a chance to be a head coach for the first time. Price feels he is ready.

Price takes over after Austin Jarvis resigned his post after just one season leading the Bruins. Jarvis led the Bruins 19-18 record in 2019. He is now serving as the head baseball coach and assistant athletic director at Victory Christian.
