Bruin Baseball Begins 2020 at Enid Monday

Monday is the official start of Bartlesville Bruin baseball, as BHS will take on Enid on the road.

It is not only the start of the season, but also the beginning of the Cody Price era of Bruin baseball.

Price was a longtime 6A assistant before being tapped as Bartlesville head coach this past summer. The schedule for high school baseball feels more rushed this season than in the past.

There was a week or two less to scrimmage this year, and the district season is starting earlier than normal. Price says he hopes the Bruins are ready to roll, because the games start counting on Monday.

Monday's game was originally scheduled to be played in Bartlesville, but they switched the locations of the two-game set against the Plainsmen to give the crew one extra day to finish up the turf at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium.

The Bruins should open up play at Rigdon Field on the new turf on Tuesday, in a game also against Enid.

The two-game series against the Plainsmen is a district set.
