Bruin Baseball Drops Tough One vs Rams

Bartlesville High suffered a tough loss at the hands of one of the district favorites on Monday night.

Owasso topped BHS after scoring five unearned runs, and withstanding a late BHS rally from one of its younger stars.

The Bruins fell at home to Owasso 6-3 in 10 innings. The Rams scored three runs in the top of the tenth in order to eke out a close win.

Bartlesville appeared to have Owasso on the ropes in the bottom of the seventh thanks to a great comeback attempt. Jakob Hall tied the game on a two-out, two-RBI single to center field. However, Bartlesville could not get the winning run across the plate. The Bruins had trailed 3-1 prior to Hall tying the contest.

Bartlesville had chances in both the eighth and the ninth as well. BHS had two runners on base each of those innings, with only one run needed to win the game. The Bruins left Bradee Rigdon at third base in the ninth.

The sophomore Hall had a fantastic day all-around, with a great pitching outing in addition to the game-tying hit.

He went eight innings on the mound, he struck out nine and walked only two. Hall allowed just four hits and three runs, with none of them earned.

Bartlesville is now 1-5 to begin the season. The Bruins are right back after it on Tuesday night with a road game at Owasso – a 5:00 PM first pitch.

The Ram broadcast of that game will air on 100.1 - KYFM.
