Bruin Baseball Keeps Winning

Bartlesville High baseball is officially on a big-time winning streak.

The Bruins kept things rolling with their fifth victory in a row on Monday night against Union. The win was also Bartlesville’s first district victory of the year.

BHS poured it on late to top the Redskins 8-2 at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium.

Bartlesville trailed 2-0 after 2 1/2 innings before the Bruins tallied eight unanswered runs to grab the win. Three of which came in the bottom of the sixth for some insurance.

Dakota Ward once again did it all. He got the win on the mound, and he hit a bases clearing double that all but assured Bartlesville the win in the bottom of the sixth.

Ward finished his day at the plate 2-2 with two doubles, three RBIs and a walk. Ward also sparkled on the mound. He went six innings while striking out 10 and walking only three. He allowed four Redskin hits and two runs, just one of them earned.

The win puts Bartlesville right in the middle of its 6A District 4 standings, with the possibility of a sweep on the horizon on Tuesday evening.

The Bruins travel to Union to finish up the two-game district series. First pitch at 6:00 PM.

No radio on Tuesday evening.
