Bruin Baseball Starts Final Week

Bartlesville High baseball begins its final week of regular season action with its final district series of the year on Monday – as the Bruins host Shawnee at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium.

BHS is coming off a 2-1 week last week, as Bartlesville fell to Skiatook on Friday afternoon, following wins over Meeker and Ponca City, all in non-district play. Ever since snapping a five-game losing skid two weeks ago, Bartlesville has been hit or miss, going 4-3. The Bruins are now 15-14 on the year.

This will be the first district series of the season where the Bruins have not had Dakota Ward as one of their starters. Ward has been shut down pitching-wise for the rest of the season, which will give a few other guys a chance to prove their worth. Head coach Austin Jarvis says that is most notably Harald Borg and Bryce Weathers.

The game time for the Bruin and Wolves matchup has been bumped back 30 minutes for Monday – so a 6:30 PM first pitch between Bartlesville and Shawnee.

Another game we will air on KWON – AM 1400 and FM 93.3.
