Bartlesville High baseball might be starting to play well at a good time of the year, as the Bruins won their second straight non-district game at Ponca City on Thursday night.

It was a run-rule victory in six innings, 9-1. BHS blew the game open with four runs on five hits in the top of the sixth inning to take the eight-run lead and eventually end the game early. Braden Winters gave Bartlesville the lead for good in the top of the third inning on the home run to right.

Jakob Hall again sparkled on the mound. He retired nine of the last 10 Ponca City batters he faced, and the Wildcats only tallied two hits in five innings against the sophomore. It was Hall’s third win of the season.

Noah Yearout came on to pitch the top of the sixth and finish the game. All nine of the Bruins in the lineup recorded hits.

Bartlesville has now won four of six and is two games above .500 at 15-13 on the year.

The Bruins wrap up their week with an afternoon contest at Skiatook on Friday at 1:00. BHS gets back into district play on Monday.
