Bruins Face Tall Task in Bixby

Bartlesville High will try to make it two wins in a row, as the Bruins will take on the No. 1 team in the state in Bixby on Thursday evening.

Bartlesville beat Sand Springs 54-34 a week ago, and will try to carry some of that success into a short week.

Bixby is 6-0, and its smallest margin of victory in the six victories was 31-points against Booker T. The Bruins bounced back from five straight losses with a good performance last week, and head coach Jason Sport says the same principles that helped them last week should be key tonight.

Bixby boasts a few future NCAA D-I players, notably the Pressley brothers of Brennan and Braylin. They will get the ball from second-year starter at quarterback in Mason Williams. The defense of the Spartans allowing only 10.6 points per game may be the most impressive stat of them all. Sport says Bartlesville needs to stay patient on offense.

Bartlesville and Bixby kick off at 7:00 from Custer Stadium with a 6:30 pregame on KWON – AM 1400 and FM 93.3.

You can watch the game online as well on KWONTV.com.
