Bruins Fall to Booker T. Washington

 

The Booker T. Washington Hornets defeated the Bartlesville Bruins 28-0 at Custer Stadium Friday evening.

 

It was a defensive struggle in the first half, as the Bruins trailed 7-0 at halftime. Midway through the third quarter, Booker T. Washington still led by 7, but was looking to get the ball rolling. A fourth down stop gave the Bruins hope, though.

 

Unfortunately, the Bruins didn't take advantage of the forced turnover. Booker T. Washington scored just before the end of the third quarter and tacked on two more scores in the fourth quarter to get the 28-point win.

 

Quarterback Ben Winters was 14 of 37 and threw for 152 yards and Shane Simpson had 10 of those receptions for 121 yards. The Bruins are now 0-4. They play at Sapulpa next Friday. That game can be heard on KWON AM 1400 and FM 93.3. You can also view that game on KWONTV.com.
