Bruins Look for 10th Win in a Row

Bartlesville High baseball has made itself into one of the better local stories of the past few months, as the Bruins are back in action for district play again on Monday night at Bixby.

BHS is fresh off a championship in its own Bruin Classic this past weekend. The streaking Bruins have won nine games in a row.

Bartlesville won the tournament title on Saturday thanks to a final 5-4 win over Newcastle. BHS was the only team in the Bruin Classic to win all of its games.

The two-game district series with Bixby on Monday and Tuesday gives Bartlesville a chance to sweep its second district set in a row, as well as put itself ahead of the Spartans in the district standings.

The Bruins will likely go with Dakota Ward and Jakob Hall as their starters in the two games. The two were dynamic in both games against Union last week. They both picked up victories, and combined to throw 13 innings and give up only two runs. Bartlesville head coach Austin Jarvis says they are starting to become more consistent.

Bixby stands at 2-2 in district play, but has been fantastic outside of the district at 11-3 overall.

Game one of the two game series at 5:30 on Monday evening from Bixby. We will have the game on the radio for you – on KWON – AM 1400 and FM 93.3.
