Bartlesville High baseball lost its second contest of a two-game district series with Stillwater on Tuesday evening from Rigdon Field.

Stillwater topped BHS 12-4 to force a split in the Bruins final District set of the year.

The Bruins ran a little thin on pitching after some injuries. BHS still has two games left this week, as well.

The game was tied at one until the fifth when the Pioneers started to break the game open. Stillwater scored four in the fifth, two in the sixth and five more in the seventh to slam the door shut.

Bartlesville kept battling at the plate despite only legging out three base hits on the night. BHS scored a run without a hit in the bottom of the fourth, which tied the game at the time - on this squeeze from Hayden Catlin.

The Bruins were getting no-hit until the sixth, when Bartlesville would get a couple wind-aided base knocks from Braeden Winters and Silas Early. BHS would score three to cut the lead to 7-4, but the five Stillwater runs in the top of the seventh would put the game out of reach.

The loss means that Bartlesville will finish at fourth place in 6A-District 4, playoff matchups and Regional pairings should be out within the next week.

Bartlesville is 20-9 overall and has just five regular season games remaining. BHS is next in action on Thursday at home against Bixby.
