Dewey Heads to Haskell for Second District Game

The Dewey Bulldoggers are looking for redemption as they face Haskell in district game No. 2 on Friday. The Doggers faced some adversity after losing several key skill players early on in last week’s district-opening loss to Victory Christian, 71-8.

Dewey sits at 1-3 entering week 5 of the season. The Doggers defense has been vulnerable against some tough competition giving up 60 points to Adair, 50 to Vinita, and 71 last week to Victory Christian.

Doggers head coach Tyler Caid says he’s hoping toughness on the practice field will lead to better game results.

Haskell, at 2-2 has seen some of the same struggles giving up 51 and 60 points respectively in the last two weeks against Rejoice Christian and Sperry, the team’s two losses thus far.

Dewey made a change at Quarterback last week going with Kale Carner—a dual-threat option. Caid was complimentary of Carner’s playmaking ability and feel for the offense.

The Doggers will continue to use the run game to try to control the tempo of the game. Dewey head’s to Haskell for its second consecutive road game to open the district slate. No Radio for the Doggers this week. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
