The season opener for Bartlesville’s summer baseball team will come a bit earlier than was expected.

Manager of the Doenges Ford Indian’s, Anthoney Towers, released the opening weekend schedule on Wednesday. The Indian’s will play four games starting Friday and running through Saturday in the Muskogee area, it is the Okmulgee County Twins Memorial Day Festival.

The Indian’s will play at 3:00 PM Friday afternoon to open up their season against Shawnee, the newest American Legion Team in the state. Bartlesville will then play Ft. Smith, Arkansas at 7:00 PM on Friday night. The Indian’s will have games at 1:00 PM and 9:00 PM on Saturday as well.

The games will be split between Bacone College and Muskogee High School. Friday afternoon's game will air on Sports Talk 1500 AM and 99.1 FM - KPGM. The rest will air on KWON - AM 1400 and FM 93.3.

It appears that the Indian’s will have about 13 players on this summer’s roster, with changes always possible.

It does not look like any of the main varsity players from Bartlesville High from this past spring will be on the team.
