Doenges Ford Indians Bring Local Flavor

The start of American Legion baseball in Bartlesville is happening this weekend.

The Doenges Ford Indians will open up the 2017 season on Friday evening with a home double-header against the Ada A’s. The A’s are Ada’s Triple-A legion team. Bartlesville will host the Major Legion team from Ada, the Braves, on June 16 and June 17.

The Indian’s will have a double-header on Friday night at 6:00 and then another twin bill on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium.

Bartlesville’s roster is comprised of 17 area athletes who tried out two weeks ago. Seven of those guys are from Bartlesville High with the remaining 10 coming from surrounding communities such as Hominy, Barnsdall, Welch, Claremore, Adair and others.

This is the 82nd season of Legion baseball in Bartlesville.

KWON – AM 1400 and FM 93.3 will carry all four of the Indian’s opening home games this weekend.
