The Dewey Bulldoggers struggles continue as the team fell to Sperry on Friday night, 52-40. The Doggers started off slow and could never recover.

Sperry started off the game on an 11-2 run in the first three minutes. The Pirates would gradually add to the lead throughout the first half. Dewey trailed 29-11 at halftime. After three quarters it was 45-19.

Dewey’s offense would come to life late though. The Bulldoggers scored more in the final quarter than they did in the first three. Offense efforts were led by Jake LaSpisa who tallied eight points. Also, Jacob Mouser would scrap for 10 points—all of which in the fourth quarter. This runner kept his momentum going.

Dewey also honored seniors Kaleb Hull, Hunter Reese, Corbin Buford and Devin Creek pregame. With the loss the Doggers fall to 1-12 on the season. Sperry has now won 19 consecutive meetings in the long-running rivalry.

Dewey is next in action on Tuesday with a home game against Chelsea.
