A high school basketball rivalry will take center stage on Friday night in one of the area’s toughest venues as Dewey hosts Nowata. This will be a difficult season opener for the Doggers against a talented Ironmen club. Dewey head coach Lance Knight knows his team has a home court advantage.

Nowata already has one win under its belt after blowing out Hominy on Tuesday. The two teams split the season series last year with each side winning on its home court. Despite a far superior record last year, the Ironmen put together its worst offensive performance in Doggerland last year as they only managed 31 points. Nowata head coach Gary Hollingshead says going to Dewey is always a challenge.

Listen to the boys’ game on the radio on KRIG 104.9 FM. Coverage begins at 7:45 p.m.
