Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball earned a sweep in its final doubleheader before winter break. The Lady Eagles and Eagles both knocked off St. Mary.

OKWU won its tenth game of the year, 63-58. The Lady Eagles chugged out to a 17-point lead in the second half a 47-30 midway through the third quarter. The Lady Spires then came back to reduce the lead to just one point in the final minute of the game. Up 61-58, Danae Goodwin stole and inbound pass and hit two free throws to seal the game.

Brittan Garrett hit four three-pointers to lead the team with 12 points. The Lady Eagles are now 6-3 in conference play. OKWU will play an exhibition with Division II Missouri Southern State on Tuesday before heading into the break.

The Eagle men rode the back of Brooks Haddock who put up 28 points in a dominating effort. OKWU wins its fourth straight over St. Mary, 91-71. The Eagles outside shooting prowess made this game non-competitive for the bulk of the contest.

Haddock aided the team in the second half with 14 points after the break. This fall away shot extended the OKWU lead.

Kaleb Stokes had 16 points. The Eagles are now 11-4 overall and 6-3 in KCAC play. The OKWU men won’t play again until January 4.
