Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball swept Friends University in a men’s and women’s doubleheader on Monday night at the Mueller Sports Center in Bartlesville. The Lady Eagles won the first game 71-57.

OKWU led wire-to-wire but the game got close at the end. The Lady Eagles would hit some big three-pointers at the end to seal the deal including this one from Hannah Nealis.

Nealis led the team with 15 points. Danae Goodwin wasn’t far behind with 14 points. The Lady Eagles now pull to 8-8 in Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

The men’s team won 88-84. This was the team’s third straight win—all come from behind efforts. Friends shot the ball well from the outside and took a 44-38 lead into the break. However, the Eagles would storm out on a 10-0 run to start the second half to take the lead back.

The Eagles played from ahead the rest of the way. Sophomore Kaleb Stokes had a career day with 33 points and 10 rebounds. Stokes had the play of the day with this thunderous dunk.

The Eagles are 14-5 overall and 11-4 in KCAC play. OKWU retains the second spot in the league standings with the victory. Both teams will be back in action on Thursday for a non-conference doubleheader with College of the Ozarks.
