The Lady Bruin golf team is back in action again on Monday with a tournament at Owasso.

This is the fourth tournament of the year for BHS, and it is of note that senior star Emma Shelley is going for her fourth tournament victory in a row. Shelley is still batting 1.000 winning tournaments in Sand Springs, Jenks and Catoosa to start the season.

The Jenks tournament was the most impressive of the three wins, with teams from the Oklahoma City metro area on hand to push Shelley and the Lady Bruin squad. Bartlesville head girl’s golf coach Terry Hughes talks about Shelley’s streak to begin the season.

As a team, Hughes says he thinks BHS is progressing along how he would like. Bartlesville has a chance to get itself into the state tournament, but the Lady Bruins shot will likely ride on just how much the younger golfers like Presley Parks, Maddy Lewis, Lisa Brown and Allie Wood keep getting better.

Hughes talks about where he would like his younger golfers score’s toward the end of the season.

Monday at Owasso is Bartlesville’s only tournament this week, the Lady Bruins next have the Frontier Valley Conference meet coming up next week.
