It was a dominating performance for both Oklahoma Union and Barnsdall at the Caney Valley Tournament on Thursday night, setting up a matchup between two top 20 teams in boys Class 2A for Saturday evening's championship game.

Oklahoma Union pounded Liberty 79-44. The Cougars led Liberty 17-12 at the end of the first quarter, but sharpshooting from Jace Hollingshead and Kohlsyn Gibson extended the Cougar lead to 40-20 at halftime. Gibson finished with a team high 25 as they would go on to win.

Barnsdall made things look just as easy in their 68-32 victory over the homestanding Caney Valley Trojans. The Panthers raced out to a 14-0 lead and didn't give up a field goal until the 2:01 mark of the first quarter. Barnsdall Coach Clif Warford is already looking ahead to the big championship game against Oklahoma Union on Saturday.

Winners on the girls’ side included Oklahoma Union over Liberty, 79-41 and Caney Valley over Chelsea, 35-12.  So for the second straight year both those teams will meet in the finals.
