Thursday evening will mark a new chapter in the new era of Bartlesville High football, as the Bruins finally get some game action against a different team.

It is scrimmage No. 1 for BHS, as Bartlesville travels down to Broken Arrow for the Tiger’s Kickoff Bash. The Bruins will take on Coweta at 6:00 PM.

The scrimmage marks the next in a series of first for new coaches and many new players that are out for Bartlesville football in 2018. First-year head coach Lee Blankenship says tonight will be a good test for his squad.

Wednesday's practice wrapped up the first week and a half of fall camp for BHS. It has been a grind for a youthful team working under a new staff. Blankenship says that he has liked his team’s resolve.

Coweta is a 5A club that is coming off an 8-3 season. The Tigers have their starting running back and quarterback returning and are picked as a playoff team in most publications this season.

We will have a full recap of Thursday's scrimmage on Friday.
