A former Doenges Ford Indians player and coach is thriving at Rogers State University. Corey Murphy, a left-handed pitcher who played for the Indians in 2017 and helped coach the team in 2019, earned a spot in the Hillcats weekend rotation.

On Sunday against Truman State Murphy threw a complete-game shutout in a seven-inning contest. Murphy totaled six strikeouts and allowed only four hits. This was Murphy’s second start of the season for RSU in his senior campaign.

Murphy is a graduate of Chelsea High School and previously pitched at Butler Community College in Kansas.
