A couple former Lady Bruins were back in town for a big-time golf tournament at Hillcrest Country Club over the last couple days.

The Women’s Oklahoma Golf Association 2019 Stroke Play Championship took place in Bartlesville on Monday and Tuesday, with both Emma Shelly and Faith Hopkins performing on their own course.

Hopkins took third with a two-day score of 158 –that was seven shots off the title. Shelley took seventh, with a 164.

Both golfers will be golfing at the NCAA level this next season.

Shelley will be a freshman at the University of Central Oklahoma. Meanwhile Hopkins will be entering her second season at Oklahoma State. Shelley was the runner-up at 6A State this past season for BHS. Hopkins won a title as a Lady Bruin in 2018.

Other local names that performed well were Darian Kedy, Pam Bonifield and Diane Doornbos.
