A former Nowata Ironmen star has signed on to continue his college football career at the division II level. Wyatt Steigerwald will be attending Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri next fall after spending the last three season at Northeast Oklahoma A&M.

Steigerwald was the gunslinger for the Ironmen when they made a run to the state title game in 2013. Nowata ultimately fell short to Davis in its first title game appearance since 1999.

While at NEO, Steigerwald struggled for playing time in his first two years and came in to the 2017 season as the backup quarterback. However, an injury thrusted him to the starting role and he never looked back.

Steigerwald threw for over 2,700 yards with 32 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in the 2017 campaign. The Golden Norse finished the year with a 9-3 record after dropping their bowl game to Independence.

Best of luck to Wyatt as he continues his collegiate athletic career.
