Five area teams are heading to the high school football playoffs this weekend, and we will have a ton of coverage for those schools throughout the week, and some play-by-play broadcasts coming your way on Friday night. Here is the schedule around the area:

Dewey will try to pick up win No. 8 at Adair, in a rematch from a game earlier this season. Adair topped the Doggers 32-14 on August 30. We will carry the Dewey game on the radio Friday at 7:00 PM on KWON – AM 1400 and FM 93.3. The Doggers nabbed the three seed out of 2A District 3.

Nowata will have a tough task, as the Ironmen will travel to Beggs for a first round battle in 2A. Nowata got the three seed out of 2A District 4. Beggs dropped to the No. 2 seed out of District 3 after falling to undefeated Sperry on Friday, 33-15. The Ironmen will air on KRIG 104.9 FM on Friday night.

Pawhuska may have dropped its first game of the season on Friday night against Pawnee, but the Huskies are still at home in the first round of the playoff. Pawhuska battled back from a 28-point deficit but fell to Pawnee 46-40 on Friday. The Huskies are the two-seed out of Class A District 5 and will face area foe Oklahoma Union on Friday night at the Beach. The Cougars-Huksies contest on Friday evening will air on 99.1 FM – KPGM.

Oklahoma Union went 7-3 after a 46-8 win over Fairland this past Friday. Pawhuska won a meeting between the two teams earlier this year 60-18 on Sept. 6.

And Barnsdall ended up as the three seed in Class A District 5, so the Panthers are back in the postseason again after missing last year. Barnsdall has a first round matchup on the road against Commerce on Friday evening. Barnsdall ended the regular season at 7-3. Commerce also went 7-3 as the two seed out of Class A District 6.
