High School Playoff Scenarios

Just a couple more days until the final regular season week of high school football across the area.

Week No. 10 will kick off on Friday night.

Several area teams will be playing for their playoff lives – here are some of the scenarios:

Oklahoma Union is in a win and you’re in situation. The Cougars can grab the fourth spot in Class A District 5 if they can beat Fairland on Friday night. If OKU loses, their season will end.

Caney Valley is in a much more precarious situations in Class A District 6. The Trojans take on Pawnee. The Trojans will need to win that game and hope that Hominy falls to Chelsea. A Hominy win or a Caney Valley loss will eliminate the Trojans from contention.

Barnsdall is also in a win and you’re in situation in Class B. The Panthers face Yale in what is a contest for the fourth spot in District 7.

Pawhuska and Wesleyan Christian are already in. The Huskies have locked up the No. 1 seed in Class A District 5. Wesleyan Christian needs a win over a winless South Coffeyville club to lock up the No. 2 seed in Class C District 3 and a home playoff game.

Bartlesville, Dewey, Nowata, and Copan are out of playoff contention
