Indian's Advance to Semifinals of Winget

The Doenges Ford Indians suffered their first loss in the 59th annual Glen Winget Tournament on Friday night, but Bartlesville is still in the semifinals thanks to Wednesday and Thursday’s performances.

The Indian’s fell to Mountain Home, Arkansas 5-3 in their finale of pool play. Bartlesville’s run differential, and two previous wins, were enough to make them the No. 3 seed in the semifinals.

The Indian’s tried to mount a late comeback against Mt. Home. Trailing 5-0 into the bottom of the seventh, Bartlesville scored three runs on three base hits, but left the tying run at the plate. 

Hayden Clark picked up the loss on the mound for the Indian’s – while Andrew Harden and John Cone both pitched well out of relief.

Bartlesville now moves on to the semifinals, and it will have a rematch against Mountain Home. The first pitch is scheduled for 3:00 PM, but keep it tuned to KWON – AM 1400 and FM 93.3 for updates.

If Bartlesville could beat Mountain Home in the semis– it would play for the Winget Title on Saturday evening around 5:30. - So two wins today wins the Winget for Bartlesville.

1:00 PM - Enid vs. Kickapoo 

3:00 PM - Indian's vs. Mt. Home

5:30 PM - Winners Play for Winget Championship
