The Doenges Ford Indians are off to a great start this summer, as Bartlesville’s American Legion baseball team wrapped up its first weekend of the season on Sunday night.

The Indian's split two games on Sunday againt Ardmore and Ada. Bartlesville won two games over Three Rivers and Ardmore on Saturday.

Recap of Sunday's action: The Indians used a four-run fifth inning and a great start by Braden Beasley to get a 4-0 victory over Ardmore in game one.

Pawhuska product Randsom Jones has been a great addition to the Bartlesville lineup in the early going this summer. This single finally got Bartlesville on the board during the four-run fifth.

Beasley was sparkling on the mound. He went the full seven innings and did not allow a run. Beasley gave up only two hits and struck out nine in the process. He also got the save in Saturday night’s game.

Now to the nightcap against Ada, Bartlesville came back from a five-nothing deficit to lead 8-5 before an error filled fifth-inning gave Ada the lead back for good.

The Braves did just enough to hold off the Indians down the stretch and won game two 10-9.

The Indians took the lead on this wacky play.

Bartlesville would score one in the sixth to get back within one run, and the Indians had their leadoff man aboard in the seventh, but couldn’t complete a second comeback in the game.

Harold Borg went 2 2/3 scoreless in relief.

The Indians are off until this weekend when they will take their annual Branson Tournament trip.
