Indians Season Ends in SM World Series

The Doenges Ford Indians 2022 season came to a close yesterday evening, as the Tribe’s valiant effort to advance to the semifinals of the Stan Musial World Series fell short.

A tough bottom of the fourth inning would put the writing on the wall. Bartlesville fell to the OKC Sandlot 11-3 in five frames.

OKC scored seven runs on three hits in the fourth to effectively end it. Bartlesville had four walks, a hit-by-pitch and an error defensively in the frame. After trailing by eight, the Indians couldn’t score in the fifth to avoid the run rule.

Prior to the bottom of the fourth, it was a ballgame. Bartlesville trailed 4-0 before striking for three runs in the top of the fourth, pulling within one. The Tribe got RBI base hits from the middle infield. The first came from Jace Thompson to put the Indians on the board.

Then a batter later, Brenden Asher would make it a ballgame.

The loss puts the Indians final record at 24-14-1, still a tremendous season for the club in their third year under John Pannell’s second stint as manger.

We will have more wrapping up the 2022 Indians over the next week.
