Indians Split to Finish Regular Season

The Doenges Ford Indians split two games from Checotah on Saturday to wrap up regular season action. The Indians knocked off Okmulgee in their first game of the day 9-4 before falling to Three Rivers 13-2 in a run-rule shortened contest.

Bartlesville used a five-run fourth inning to propel themselves to victory to start the day. The Indians patience at the plate was rewarded as the first five batters reached on free passes. Grant Yardley plated two runs to the extend the lead on this single.

That hit from Yardley was the only one of the frame for the Indians. He finished the game going 2-for-5. Noah Yearout and Harold Borg each had two hits as well.

The Indians used four different pitchers to get it done. Braden Beasley and Yearout each allowed two earned over two innings. Randson Jones worked two run-free frames and Kyler Hancock worked a scoreless inning to finish off the victory.

Game two wasn’t pretty as Three Rivers defeated Bartlesville for the sixth time this summer. Starter Zach Snow gave up three runs over the first two innings. Two Indians relievers would allow 10 runs in third inning. The Bandits would coast to victory from there in five innings.

The Indians finish the regular season at 21-15. They’ll next be in action on Thursday against Ada for the beginning of the state tournament in Madill.
