Ironmen on the Edge of a Playoff Berth

The Nowata Ironmen have potential to clinch the team’s first playoff bid since 2016 on Thursday night. Nowata is 3-0 heading into a road matchup with Chouteau, who is 0-6. A win would mark tremendous progress for an up-and-coming Ironmen team. Before this recent winning streak Nowata had won just one game in 24 tries. First-year Ironmen head coach says hard work has put the team in this position.

Nowata is riding strong momentum after earning back-to-back 21 point victories. Senior Josiah Clark has shown great value for the inspired Ironmen offense. Clark has seven touchdowns on the season.

Nowata’s defense has been integral to the team’s success as well. In district play, the Ironmen have given up just 13.6 points per game which is a vast improvement from the 38 points per contest they allowed in the non-district season.

No radio for Nowata this week. The Ironmen kickoff from Chouteau at 7 p.m. on Thursday night.
