Ironmen Take on Commerce in Hewitt Tournament

Play continues in the Ty Hewitt Memorial tournament on Friday. Nowata, the host team drew a tough opponent in Oologah in the first round of the tournament. The Ironmen fell 73-61.

Nowata will take on Commerce in the consolation bracket. Ironmen head coach Gary Hollingshead says his team still chance to come away with multiple victories on the week.

The Tigers also ran into buzz saw in round one, as 4A Mannford defeated them 71-20. That was the only ballgame Commerce has played thus far. The Ironmen will play again on Saturday regardless of the result against Commerce.

The Ironmen are lead in scoring by Mark Price who has scored over 20 points in three of five games this season.

Nowata enters play with 3-2 record so far on the season. Tipoff is set for 8:30 p.m. on from Ty Hewitt Court in Nowata. Radio coverage can be heard on KRIG 104.9 FM.
