Ironmen Working in New Schemes in First Practices

Nowata football has put three days of practice in the books already. The Ironmen are getting used to new head coach Graham Snelding who took the job in April to become the school’s fifth head coach in the last five seasons.

In a strange offseason Snelding has still found a way to make an impact. The Ironmen revamped their weight room with some improvements to help out during the summer session. The Ironmen have veteran leaders like Trenton Smith and Kyle Seely who will lead the way for a younger crop of players. Nowata is also challenged with an offensive and defensive scheme change in a short amount of time. Snelding says that has been the biggest emphasis in the first few days of practice.

Nowata will open up with a rivalry game against Oklahoma Union on August 28. You can hear from coach Snelding and other area coaches on our Saturday morning coaches breakfast broadcast. Live from 7-9 on Saturday morning on KWON – AM 1400 and FM 93.3, it is our annual high school football preview show.
