Jarvis Happy to be Coaching the Bruins

There was an interested follower of the Doenges Ford Indians vs. Ada Braves baseball game on Sunday night.

Newly hired Bruin baseball coach Austin Jarvis had some of his former players playing for the Ada Braves, while many of his future players are on this summer's Doenges Ford Indian's.

Jarvis comes to Bartlesville from Ada, where he spent just one season. He decided to resign after the season was over in mid-May following some disgruntled parents letters they sent to the coach following the final game of the spring. Jarvis says that Ada was a great place, but he is excited to be a Bruin.

Not only is Bartlesville closer to home for Jarvis, but he is quite familiar with the town. He lived here for one year during college when he played baseball at Oklahoma Wesleyan. Jarvis talks about what he remembers about his new home.

Jarvis is currently with his summer baseball team, but will be making more trips to Bartlesville throughout the summer.

We will have more on Jarvis and the new Lady Bruin basketball head coach Donnie Martin in the coming days.

Those hires were announced on Thursday and will become official during the BPS June school board meeting.
