Kelley Happy with Eagles in Summer Ball

We have chronicled the journeys of several Oklahoma Wesleyan baseball players as they traveled all over the country for summer baseball over the last two months. The calendar turning over to August means the end of the summer season.

Star outfielder Drenis Ozuna earned a spot to play in the prestigious Cape Cod Summer Collegiate League. Ozuna played in 11 games with the Chatham Anglers before he was displaced by a few top-tier division I players after the College World Series ended. Eagles head coach Kirk Kelley says that will help Ozuna gain the attention of more pro scouts.

Ozuna then went to join his OKWU teammate Michael Anderson on the Winchester Royals of the Valley League in Virginia. Kelley also was impressed with Anderson’s summer performance.

Anderson went 4-3 in seven starts this summer. The Eagles will all return to campus for the start of school in the ensuing days. Fall workouts are tentatively set to start at the end of August.
