The Bartlesville High girls’ basketball team will play its first state tournament game in 26 years on Thursday evening.

The Lady Bruins are getting set for their first-round matchup against Edmond Santa Fe. Bartlesville is coming off a two-point win against Shawnee on Saturday in the Area Tournament. The Lady Bruins won that game 34-32 – amid a below average shooting night. Bartlesville head girls’ basketball coach Krista Binam says that’s why her team’s focus is defense.

Bartlesville gave up 50 points or more in back-to-back games against Deer Creek and Sand Springs in the playoffs prior to the 32 points surrendered to Shawnee.

Edmond Santa Fe is 21-6. The Lady Wolves are undefeated in the 6A playoffs, they have not lost since Feb. 16 against Westmoore. This is Edmond Santa Fe’s 10th straight appearance in the 6A State Tournament. Binam talks about Bartlesville’s opponent.

Bartlesville and Edmond Santa Fe, a 7:00 PM tip from Tulsa Memorial High School. That is a ballgame we will have on KWON – AM 1400 and FM 93.3. You can also listen online at and to your mobile device on the Bartlesville Radio app.

Bartlesville High is having a state send-off at 4:15 PM on Thursday, as well, outside the Fine Arts Center of the south side of BHS.

If BHS wins, it would face the winner of Edmond Memorial and Owasso on Friday morning at 10:30 at the Mabee Center in Tulsa in the 6A State Semifinals.
