The Oklahoma Wesleyan women’s team earned a big time victory over York, 81-50, on Tuesday night at the Mueller Sports Center. The win puts the Lady Eagles in the quarterfinals of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament.

York showed physicality and prowess on the glass early on but ultimately couldn’t shoot enough to keep up with OKWU. The Lady Eagles led by nine at halftime, 38-29. A strong 11-3 run out of the locker room put the lead out of reach early on. OKWU would outscore the Lady Panthers 25-15 in the period.

Hannah Nealis was the offensive torchbearer for OKWU with 23 points. Antonia Porter scored a career-high 18 points off the bench as well. The Lady Eagles bench would run wild in the fourth quarter as well. A steal and quick three from Brittan Garrett would seal the game.

OKWU head coach Grace Hadley was suspended for Tuesday night’s game after a questionable ejection in Saturday’s loss against Bethany. Assistant coach Ashley Almond led the team to its largest victory of the season. The Lady Eagles will play No. 2 Bethel on the road, Thursday night at 7 p.m.
