Lady Ironmen Beginning New Era

 

High school basketball is slated to pick up next week after the long holiday weekend. Several area teams will be in action on Tuesday.

The Nowata Lady Ironmen played the first game of the year last Tuesday against Barnsdall. Nowata fell 49-26 in its first game under new head coach Terry Rogers. Rogers is a well-known name around the area as he spent eight years as the head coach of the Bartlesville girls program. Rogers says he’s excited to be coaching in the area once again.

Nowata went 7-18 in the 2017-2018 season. Rogers is looking forward to building the team on the philosophy of finding the highest percentage shot every single time down the floor. Rogers says he’s looking forward to building up the program.

Nowata will take on Hominy for a road game at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
